S.O.S part 1
I climbed into bed.
My father leans over me.
"Goodnight Juliet."
I smile. "g'night Dad."
He says good night to my sister Anne,
who sleeps next to me,
turns the light off,
and goes to his room.
Anne starts whispering what she calls her 'boat chant.'
"We're on a bow-oat. We're on a bow-oat" over and over again.
I tell her we are on a ship,
like I do every night,
and close my eyes and try to sleep.
Next thing I know,
a jolt shakes our room.
I almost fall off my bed.
I like sleeping on the side.
"D-Dad?" Anne's terrified eyes reflect the moon.
"W-what was that?"
He comes into our room.
"I don't know girls,"
he says, yawning.
